Don’t forget to vote!

Tuesday, Nov. 2 marks Election Day in Ohio. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This year’s elections cover races for city councils, school boards and township offices, as well as a variety of local issues.

Candidates are on the ballot for seats on Oxford City Council, Talawanda Board of Education and trustee and fiscal officer spots in Oxford, Hanover, Milford and Reily Townships. Issue 1, renewal of the Butler County MetroParks levy, also is on the ballot in Oxford.

Those who are unsure if they are registered to vote in Butler County, or are unsure where their polling place is, can check their status on the Butler County Board of Elections website.

The League of Women Voters offers these tips for voters on Election Day:

  • Verify your polling station if you have moved or don’t know where to vote.
  • Vote early to avoid the possibility of waiting in long lines.
  • Take an unexpired photo ID with you.
  • If you have any trouble voting or if a question arises over your voter eligibility, ask the poll workers for a provisional ballot.
