Butler County Health Department inspected seven Oxford businesses in the past week. Two locations each received two critical violations and another one received one critical violation.

Subway, located at 5720 College Corner Pike, was visited June 23 and received two non-critical violations. This was a follow-up to an inspection June 20. The non-critical violations included unlabeled spices and a buildup of ice in freezers caused by a potential leak.

Arby’s, located at 2 Lynn St., was visited June 23. The fast-food restaurant received two critical and three non-critical violations. The critical violations included using an improper sanitizing solution and storing cooler foods at improper temperatures.

Mac & Joe’s, located at 21 E. High St. received two critical and six non-critical violations June 26. The critical violations were grime buildup on a can opener and its mount, debris on the bar’s soda gun and food not being stored at the correct temperatures. One critical violation was a repeat from when the restaurant was last inspected on October 18, 2022. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.

Steinkeller earned a visit on June 26. The uptown restaurant, located at 15 E. High St., received one critical and six non-critical violations. The critical violation pertained to grime buildup on the bar’s soda gun and was corrected during the inspection.

Spring Street Treats, located at 321 W. Spring St., was inspected June 27. It received one non-critical violation for storing cups on the floor.

Speedway, located at 260 S. Locust St., received one non-critical violation on June 28. The violation was for a broken gasket on the beer freezer’s door.

Miami University’s Recreational Sports Center was also inspected on June 28. The facility, located at 750 S. Oak St., had two non-critical violations during this follow-up to a June 6 inspection. The violations included cracked door gaskets and the usage of a residential microwave. The June 6 inspection had one critical violation and three non-critical ones.
