One woman is dead after a two-car collision at the intersection of Stillwell Beckett Road and Oxford Reily Road, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. The crash, which occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on April 7, resulted in the death of 46-year-old Kathryn Fichter of Cincinnati.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the collision occurred when a Hyundai Elantra did not yield to a “red flashing traffic control device,” causing the driver of a 1500 Ram pick-up truck to collide with the passenger side of the Elantra.
The Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Team and the coroner’s office responded to the scene, with emergency personnel calling for a medical helicopter. Two other people were transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries,” while Fichter was pronounced dead at the scene following “extensive life-saving measures.”
The crash is currently still under investigation. No charges have been filed.
