Miami Airport receives $132,592 grant to improve runway

A Federal Aviation Administration grant totaling nearly $4 million to improve airports in Southwest Ohio includes Oxford’s airport, according to an announcement made by the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown.

Miami University Airport will receive $139,592 to perform sealing and joint filling of the existing terminal tarmac surface and taxiway. This total was the lowest award to any of the five airports included in the grant. Springfield/Beckley Municipal Airport received the bulk of the money, with over $3 million.

“Ohio airports are vital infrastructure supporting travel and commerce in our state,” Brown said. “These investments will enhance safety and operations at Southwest Ohio airports and improve travel for area residents and businesses.”
