Mexican-American poet addresses identity, life and poetry

Esteemed Mexican-American poet Manuel Iris will hold a lecture and discussion at 5 p.m. March 30 in McGuffey Hall Room 322.

The lecture takes place on the eve of Cesar Chavez Day and focuses on the development of Iris’ identity as a migrant poet in the United States. Iris will read poems in English and Spanish and draw connections between real life and poetry. He will sign books starting at 6 p.m.

Several Miami organizations sponsor the lecture, including the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion.
