Voice of America press freedom editor Jessica Jerreat and news standards editor Steve Springer will join in a panel discussion on press freedom across the world from Washington, D.C. via big screen at the National VOA Museum of Broadcasting from 7 to 9 p.m. March 23 in West Chester.

Jerreat and Springer bring extensive expertise in journalistic standards to the event, titled “Journalism: The Oxygen of Democracy.”

Jerreat oversees VOA’s award-winning coverage of the trends in social media and information accessibility globally. 

As VOA’s first news standards and best practices editor, Springer established training for all VOA staff on best journalistic practices and on policy prohibiting interference by the U.S. government officials in the news outlet’s reporting and programming.
