Award-winning activist to speak on tribal sovereignty

Rebecca Nagle, an award-winning podcaster, journalist and activist, will discuss tribal sovereignty at 6 p.m. March 8 in 152 Shideler Hall.

A citizen of the Cherokee Nation, Nagle will review what a federally recognized tribe is, how U.S. policy impacts tribes and how the rights of tribes influence the lives of its citizens.

This program is free and open to the public, with a livestream option available for participants.

The event is co-sponsored by the Miami University’s Western Center for Social Impact and Innovation and the Myaamia Center. The program is part of the Western Center and Miami University’s annual focus theme of Tribal Sovereignty and Reparations as Restorative Justice.
