Audubon seeks volunteers for 120th winter bird census

The Audubon Miami Valley chapter is seeking volunteers to participate in the national organization’s 120th winter bird census Saturday, Dec. 17.

The organization describes it as “the largest citizen science project in the world” involves thousands of volunteers across North America. Locally, volunteers will be placed in groups to cover a 15-mile diameter circle around Oxford.

Experienced and inexperienced “birders” are welcome. Birdwatchers who stay home that day are encouraged to observe bird activity around their home feeders and yards.

If interested in participating, contact Larry Gersbach at (513)-310-0195 or [email protected].
