PFLAG’s Pride Month banner hangs over High Street.

The Oxford Area Parents and Families of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) organization announced its sponsorship of a banner hanging above High Street recognizing Pride Month.

The banner, which will be on display for two weeks, incorporates the designs of the pride rainbow, the transgender pride flag, and Black Lives Matter colors. Reading “love-honor one another,” the banner was produced by board member Chip Rogers, who also serves as an assistant coach for the Miami field hockey team.

Oxford Area PFLAG is a local chapter of PFLAG, a national organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families, friends, and allies. The organization hosts monthly community meetings as well as panel discussions, and often collaborates with Miami’s Spectrum student organization, Talawanda High School’s Diversity Club, the City of Oxford and Enjoy Oxford.
