The City of Oxford is seeking bids from engineering firms to plan the route and estimate the cost of the next three miles of the Oxford Area Trail System by Oct 1, 2021.

The hiking and biking trail is a 10-year project that is planned to go all the way around Oxford. The completed part of the trail now runs from the Black Covered Bridge, around the eastern side of the city and the Miami University campus to Peffer Park.

The section for which the city is now seeking planning bids would run from Oxford Community Park east to the Black Covered Bridge, around the northwest quadrant of the city. That would leave the part of the trail envisioned to go around the south side of town to be completed.

According to the city, sealed proposals with pricing clearly marked “2021 OATS Route Planning & Cost Estimations,” are due no later than 10 a.m., Friday, Feb 26.
