From March 18 to 30, Oxford police took reports of seven thefts, including a stolen motorcycle, a stolen package and an online fraud report.
Over this period there were also four reports of theft by deception. One such case included a telephone caller claiming to be an investment company and stating that the victim’s account was compromised. In another case, the victim reported being contacted by a fraudulent company that requested the victim send them money.
There were two warrant arrests. On Mar. 23, a traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was found to have an active warrant out of Montgomery County; he was transported to Dayton and turned over to their agency. On Mar. 30, officers responded to Oxford Square Apartments for an unwanted male; the complainant was found to have an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.
On Mar. 21, Green Beer Day, a 19-year-old threw an open can of hard seltzer while crossing Bishop Street. She was cited for having an open liquor container and for being underage. In a separate case, two females were at the site of a noise complaint and were observed discarding alcohol. Both females were charged with underage liquor violations.
On Mar. 30, there was a breaking and entering report on West High Street. The two male victims returned from spring break to their front door left open. Water fixtures were found to be left running but nothing was stolen.
