Audubon Miami Valley has a field trip and volunteer day scheduled this month.
On April 13, it will sponsor a field trip to the Garber Nature Center on State Route 503 North in Lewisburg at 9 a.m. The trip includes exploring a flower garden, summer kitchen and various antiques on the premises, according to a press release.
Spring Volunteer Day will be at Hueston Woods State Park on April 20. Volunteers are invited to join from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
According to a press release, volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather and off-trail work, wearing long pants and sturdy shoes. Necessary tools and gloves will be provided, and participants are encouraged to bring water bottles
The primary task will involve hand-pulling and digging invasive plants like honeysuckle and garlic mustard, the press release states.
The meeting point will be the Maple Grove Picnic Area, with signage directing participants to the registration tent at the top of the road leading down to the beach, according to the press release.
