Student musicians from Miami University returned to Fitton Center for Creative Arts on March 1 for the third installment in a free chamber music concert series.
Under the direction of Aaron Pergram, students curated a program inspired by the Romantic period, aligning the music with the current art exhibition in the gallery, “Double Take.”
The concert encompassed performances by five different groups, with highlights such as a graduate student trio’s performance of “Miniatures for Piano Trio” by Frank Bridge and duets for two violins by Reinhold Glière, according to a press release.
The concert also featured a wind quintet performing August Klughardt’s “Wind Quintet, Op. 79” and a string quartet performing Felix Mendelssohn’s “Quartet No. 2 in A minor.” The Oxford Winds, a graduate group, closed the evening with “Cinq pièces en trio” by Jacques Ibert.
