The League of Women Voters of Oxford welcomes Thomas Poetter, professor of educational leadership at Miami University, to discuss privatization in schools at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13.
The program, titled “Defending Public Schools, Defunding Private Interests,” is open to the public and will be held in the LCNB National Bank community room at 30 West Park Place.
According to a press release from the League of Women Voters of Oxford, Poetter’s research centers on how a shift toward school privatization is altering the education landscape across the state. His recent book on the topic spotlights the impact of vouchers and charter schools.
