Tuesday, May 3 is Primary Election Day in Ohio ahead of the November general election. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Voters can request a Republican or Democrat ballot. Issue-only ballots are also available, but there are no issues on the ballot for voters within Oxford and the Talawanda School District. 

Voters must bring acceptable identification to their polling location in order to receive a ballot. Polling locations can be found here

For Republicans, the following races are contested: 

  • Governor and Lieutenant Governor 
  • Secretary of State
  • U.S. Senator 
  • Representative to Congress for Ohio’s 8th District 
  • Judge of the Court of Common Pleas – Juvenile Division 

For Democrats, the following races are contested: 

  • Governor and Lieutenant Governor 
  • U.S. Senator

The primary races for Ohio House of Representatives, Ohio Senate and State Central Committee are not on the ballot, because of the ongoing redistricting process for the Ohio General Assembly.  A primary election for those races will be scheduled at a later date.
