The Miami University Natural Areas Committee will hold a virtual public hearing on proposed actions to the deer population in natural areas of Miami University, 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5.

The committee has created two documents to facilitate discussion at the meeting: 

• Background on the impact of deer on Miami’s natural areas.
• Proposed actions, including selective hunting, to reduce the impact of deer in the affected areas.

Members of the Natural Areas committee will be attending to answer questions. As well as listen to and consider community thoughts on the matter. Those interested are invited to provide their input during the meeting or by emailing [email protected].
