Oxford Lane Library and Miami University are partnering to tutor middle school students through a program called “Students Helping Students.”

The weekly after-school program is designed to provide tutoring to students in need of additional help or those just wanting to improve upon their skills. The Miami students participating in the program are available to help with mathematics or English language arts.

Rebecca Smith, branch manager of the Oxford Lane Library, said she believes the tutoring program could help clarify concepts for students.

“This partnership benefits middle schools’ students as they get . . .  one-on-one attention in a supportive environment, and that can make all the difference,” Smith said.

The program runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Tuesday through May 3. Parents interested in registering their fifth- through eighth-graders are encouraged to contact Oxford Lane Library to register.
