Women’s Equality Day will be celebrated 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, in front of the Oxford Community Arts Center, 10 S. College Ave.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Oxford, the event will include a mayoral proclamation. The LWV’s purpose is to encourage informed and active participation in government and increase understanding of major public policy issues through education and advocacy.
