The school year is just around the corner again. But there’s still time to squeeze in a few fun summer activities in Oxford.

This weekend, Saturday, Aug. 7, is the regular Oxford Farmers Market from 9 a.m. until noon. Items for sale include local and seasonal produce and goods.

Right around the corner from the Farmers Market, Enjoy Oxford will be hosting the 7th Annual Red Brick Reunion Porsche Car Show. Porsches of all types will be on display on High Street starting at 9 a.m.

From noon until 4 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 8, the Oxford Museum Association will be making ice cream at the Hueston Woods Pioneer Farms. This event teaches children about the history of ice cream and how to make it with just a few simple ingredients. This event is free to the public.

On Thursday, Aug. 12, Claypool Block will be playing Blues and Rock as part of the Uptown Music Series. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy music starting at 7 p.m. at Oxford Memorial Park.

Next Friday, Aug. 13,  the Aquatic Center will be hosting a “dive-in” movie from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Popcorn and candy will be available at the concession stand. Entry is $5 per family. Keep an eye out on Facebook at their page “Oxford Aquatic Center” to see which movie will be played.

Also on Friday, Aug. 13 is the last “Red Brick Friday” of the summer. The theme of this Red Brick Friday is “Dog Days,” complete with sidewalk sales, a dog parade, dunk tank, and music. Enjoy food and drinks from participating local businesses, as well.
