Oxford commissions a new bike rack for uptown

Calling all artists and designers — the Public Arts Commission of Oxford (PACO) is looking for design submissions for a bike rack that will be installed in front of the Oxford Police Department, 101 E. High St.

Bike rack designs must support two bicycles and will be judged on both concept and functionality. Everyone is welcome to apply. It is suggested that artists consult pages five through eight of Essentials of Bike Parking by the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals for bike rack best practices.

Submit your most creative ideas to [email protected] by July 31. The winner will receive a $2,000 stipend and be responsible for both bike rack design and fabrication.
