Oxford to put on mural competition to help decorate the city

The City of Oxford invites artists to participate in a mural competition. The temporary murals will be placed throughout the city and the winning submissions will receive $400. The theme is #OxfordNightLights, and the idea is for the art to incorporate a blacklight experience with each piece.

The 4 feet by 8 feet plywood murals will be on display from Nov. 27 through Jan. 17, with the idea being that they will help decorate the city and encourage people to take selfies as they go from mural to mural. Proposals are due Oct. 28 and should be submitted to Seth Cropenbaker. Details on what to include in artist proposals can be found on the city’s website.
