Too cool for school: Oxford park to offer school by the pool

Oxford’s Parks & Recreation Department is offering a childcare program by the pool–but not in the pool–for elementary school children starting Aug. 31 through Oct. 16.

Students will be supervised by certified teacher Jennifer Jones, who will ensure students complete their homework each day. She will also provide a variety of fun activities for students, as well as time outdoors. The program will be held in the indoor conference room at the Oxford Aquatic Center located at 701 Kay Rench Drive.

The program can accommodate a maximum of 10 students. It is for students in second through fifth grade, or kindergartners and first-graders who have an older sibling in the program. The cost for the seven-week program will be $150 per week, for a total of $1,050 for seven weeks.
