The Butler County General Health District inspected five Oxford restaurants between Feb. 12, and Feb. 17, issuing a total of nine critical violations and 10 non-critical violations.
The inspectors issued violations as follows:
On Feb. 13, OxVegas Chicken, 48 E. Park Place, received five critical and eight non-critical violations during its first inspection. Critical violations included using sanitizing solution at an incorrect concentration; having a dirty cutting board in clean storage; storing raw chicken at too warm a temperature; keeping multiple chemical spray bottles without labels; and not storing chemicals and cleaners in a manner to prevent potential contamination of food items. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
El Burrito Loco Mexican Food, 102 Locust St., received three critical violations on Feb. 15. Critical violations included keeping uncovered peppers, beef and fried ice cream in the walk-in freezer; an accumulation of food debris on a can opener, mixer beaters and the cheese shredder; grime buildup in the ice machine; and unlabeled bottles of Windex and chlorine water. All critical violations were corrected during the inspection.
TopShelf Shots, 17 N Poplar St., received one critical and two non-critical violations. Critical violations included grime build up and a mold-like substance on the inner portion of soda gun nozzles. The process of cleaning nozzles began during inspection.
