Between Feb. 12 and Feb. 18, the Oxford Police Department responded to 17 incidents, including a report of shots fired, assault of a peace officer at a local hospital and an overnight break-in at a local restaurant.
On Feb. 14 at 9:43 p.m., officers responded to the 4900-block of College Corner Pike for a report of shots fired. The person who reported the incident was in the Wildberry parking lot on College Corner Pike when they heard a noise that sounded similar to gunfire. After checking the area, officers were unable to locate a firearm in the area.
At 8:46 a.m. on Feb. 15, police responded to a report at El Burrito Loco on 102 S. Locust St., where an overnight theft took place. The suspect broke into the restaurant, vandalized over $500 worth of property and stole items from the location.
The same morning at 8:12 a.m., officers responded to a report of robbery at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. The suspect attempted to steal a tote bag from a pedestrian on the sidewalk and later assaulted a hospital security guard. Multiple officers reported to the scene as the suspect resisted arrest. The suspect was then treated medically and transferred to the Butler County jail.
On Feb. 17 at 1:19 p.m., police conducted a welfare check on a male subject. The subject was transported to McCullough-Hyde Hospital and placed on a 72-hour hold. Suspected drugs were confiscated from the individual’s possession.
At 11:48 p.m. on Feb. 18, officers were dispatched for a report of domestic violence at the 5000-block of College Corner Pike. A juvenile was placed into custody and transferred to a local juvenile detention center.
