The MOON Co-op Grocery Store is holding a chili lunch fundraiser on Feb. 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 25 E. Walnut St.
The cost to get in is $15 or $10 for students. Children under 12 can get in with a donation. According to MOON Co-op, there will be a wide range of chilis and bake sale items available to sample at the event. Those interested can sign up to bring chili, breads or desserts here or to bring an item for the bake sale here.
Entertainment at the event will be provided by Pete Carels’ Rhythm Expedition, an Oxford group which performs and often involves spectators in drum circles of various kinds.
Proceeds from the chili lunch and bake sale will benefit the MOON Co-op grocery store, which is located at 512 S. Locust St. MOON Co-op is currently working to improve its store. Recently, it replaced all the lights in the store, and soon it hopes to purchase a new oven to benefit its deli, according to a store manager.
