The city of Oxford is offering to split the expense of upgrading storefronts in town with business owners through its Facade Improvement and Environmental Sustainability grant program.
Projects may include new or refreshed signage, new windows, energy efficiency upgrades or exterior painting. Grant winners are eligible for up to $2,500 to cover up to half the project’s cost.
According to a press release from the city, any business within city limits that has operated for at least one calendar year as of Jan. 1, 2024 at a non-residential brick-and-mortar location with at least one I-9 employee is eligible.
The Oxford Community Improvement Corporation will consider the scope, impact, total costs and remaining funds when evaluating project submissions.
Applications can be found online and submitted to the city’s economic development specialist, Seth Cropenbaker, at [email protected] or dropped off at the utility reception desk at the Oxford Municipal Building before Feb. 29.
The first round of awards will be announced Sunday, March 31, according to the city of Oxford website.
