Miami University named Glenn Box as the women’s basketball head coach May 8. Box was the associate head coach for Indiana University’s women’s basketball team, for four of his seven coaching seasons at IU.

All of Box’s seasons at IU had more than 20 wins. Five of his seven seasons featured NCAA appearances; each of those appearances advanced to the second round. They also made their way to two different Sweet Sixteens (2021 and 2022) and an Elite Eight (2020).

Box also worked on the coaching staff at St. Louis University from 2010 to 2012. Before that, he coached in Akron and guided the team to two MAC tournaments.

“Coach Box really does check all the boxes,” athletic director David Sayler said at a May 9 press conference, praising the new coach’s experience.

Box’s arrival comes after DeUnna Hendrix resigned. Hendrix made national news in late April for having intimate text conversations with a player.
