The Audubon Miami Valley members will take a field trip from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 21 to the Preble County Historical Society and Nature Reserve, located at 7693 Swartsel Road in Eaton.

Participants meet at the destination at 9 a.m. for a trip through the historic farmstead buildings and exhibits.

The reserve has a network of trails that provide access to 250 acres of forest, prairie, meadow, stream, pond, and wetland features that participants will be taken through.

Participants will be given the opportunity to observe native bird species sing their unique mating songs and establish breeding territories.

The field trip is open to the public. Participants will need walking shoes, water supply, insect repellent, and sunscreen as they walk through the trails.

An antique car rally will take place at the reserve at 1 p.m. Food vendors will also be on site.
