Oxford Police looks into inappropriate text messages


Oxford police responded to reports of shoplifting at Walmart, burglary, rape and inappropriate text messages between April 3 and April 10.

Walmart reported a known suspect took products through self-checkout without paying April 2. Police stopped and arrested another suspect at Walmart for trying to steal $747.16 worth of items April 6. The next day, a woman attempted to shoplift items after using old receipts to return products. She was stopped by loss prevention. 

Police spoke to a sexual assault victim that was raped April 6.

Officers responded to a report of a child receiving inappropriate text messages April 3. Police also responded to a call from a student who was being harassed through text messages by another student.
