Oxford Rotarian Etta Reed was recently presented with the Southwest Ohio Avenues of Service Award for community service.

Rotary Club District Gov. Frank Scott granted her the award which recognizes individual Rotarians in the district who have reached “outstanding merit” in one of the group’s five areas of service: club, vocational, community, international and youth.

Reed was the chairperson of the Oxford Community Stars & Stripes program for seven years. Reed also serves as the vice president of transportation engineering at Bayer Becker in Oxford. She directed service projects which raised $131,000 for scholarships and other activities and provided over $25,000 to partner organizations.

“The success of the Oxford Community Stars & Stripes Program can be attributed to the collective efforts of our 60 members and loyal partnership teams,” Oxford Rotary President Lisa Dankovich said in a press release.  “With Etta’s leadership, civil engineering and environmental expertise, we were able to launch this program effectively and grow it steadily to make our residents proud.”
