MUPD reports seven hazing incidents


Miami University police responded to multiple cases of rape and medical assistance between April 15 and April 22.

Between Feb. 6 and 12, the Miami University Police Department responded to seven reported incidents of hazing, according to the department’s call log published online.

Three of these cases are listed as open, three are closed, and one is unfounded. Six of the incidents reportedly took place off campus, while the location of the seventh was not identified. 

Police also logged six calls for medical assistance, five fire alarms on campus, and six alcohol violations. 

Police logged three sexual assaults, one of which was classified as rape in Oxford. This case was referred to another legal agency.
