Oxford restaurants receive health violations in newest inspections

Since Jan. 28, Butler County General Health District has reviewed 22 Oxford eateries and found violations in 10. The businesses cited for health violations since the last edition of Observer are as follows:

  • O’Pub, 10 W. Park Place, inspected Feb. 2, was cited with two critical and five non-critical violations. Critical violations included using chlorine sanitizing solution and solution in the dishwasher at incorrect temperatures. 
  • Fiesta Charra, 25 W. High St., inspected Feb. 1, received three critical and five non-critical violations. Their critical violations included the lack of knowledge about food safety violations, not properly sealing food from contamination and storing sanitizing equipment at an incorrect temperature. The first two violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • Mimian, 114 W. Walnut St., inspected Feb. 1, received three critical and six non-critical violations. Critical violations included a lack of knowledge about food safety violations, non-accessible sinks and hard-to-clean food contact surfaces. These violations were corrected during the inspection. 
  • Ramen Hachi, 17 W. Church St., inspected Feb. 1, received three critical and two non-critical violations. The critical inspections were using a hand washing sink for other purposes, temperature-controlled foods not being stored at the correct temperature and improper storage of toxic/poisonous materials. These violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • Church Street Social, 107 E. Church St., inspected Jan. 27, received two critical and six non-critical violations. Critical violations included temperature-controlled foods not being stored at the correct temperature and improper storage of toxic/poisonous materials. These violations were corrected during the inspection.
  • Drop In Tea, 5 S. Beech St., inspected Jan. 27, received eight critical and nine non-critical violations. Critical violations include improper hand washing by employees, lack of knowledge on food safety violations, written procedures and plans not being maintained and implemented, lack of knowledge on hand washing techniques, employees not washing in approved sinks, not having a hand washing sink accessible, food being left out for too long and not sanitizing utensils as frequently as required. Six out of eight of these violations were corrected during the inspection. 
  • El Burrito Loco, 102 Locust St., inspected Jan. 27, received one critical and one non-critical violation. The critical violation was for temperature-controlled foods not being stored at the correct temperature. This was corrected during the inspection.
  • LaRosa’s Pizza, 21 Lynn Ave., inspected Jan. 26, received one critical violation. The critical violation was for temperature-controlled foods not being stored at the correct temperature. This was corrected during the inspection.
  • Oxford Sushi King, 37 E. High St., inspected Jan. 26, received one critical and one non-critical violation. The critical violation was temperature-controlled foods not being stored at the correct temperature. This was corrected during the inspection.
  • Buffalo Wild Wings, 10 E. Walnut St., inspected Jan. 24, received one critical and two non-critical violations. The critical violation was cold foods not being stored at the correct temperature. This was corrected during the inspection.
