A fire destroyed a home on Stillwell Beckett Road near U.S. 27 Tuesday morning, Nov. 29.

The fire departments of Hanover, Riley and Milford townships were called around 7:30 a.m. to extinguish the fire, according to Local 12 news.

According to property tax records, the 1956 three-bedroom home was owned by David Glen Riddle, who died in August at age 49.

Cody Riddle, who lived in the house, and his two dogs made it out safely, but the home and contents were destroyed, according to a GoFundMe page established for Cory Riddle by a neighbor. Stephanie Reed, Riddle’s neighbor, said Riddle inherited the home from his father but had not yet received a homeowner insurance policy.

Currently, Riddle is housed by the Reed family, who is accepting drop-off donations at 4007 Stillwell Beckett Road.
