Miami hosts abortion debate between former White House staffers

A debate over the future of abortion rights between former Trump and Obama administration officials will be held at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15 in Taylor Auditorium at the Farmer School of Business.

The event, one in a series of JANUS forums at the university, will pit former Trump Administration White House Press Secretary and Communications Director Stephanie Grisham against Johanna Maska, Director of Press Advance during the Obama Administration.

The two women will present opposing perspectives on the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling, which overruled Roe v. Wade, and the U.S. legal tradition of allowing a woman’s right to privacy to cover a right to abortion.

The audience is encouraged to submit questions during the event using #janusmiamioh on Twitter. It is free and open to the public, but a ticket is required.
