MUPD responds to 15 false fire alarms in one week


Miami University police were dispatched to 15 fire alarms on campus Oct. 10 and Oct. 17, according to its weekly report. All were false alarms.

The department also received reports of five thefts, one burglary and a theft of a motor vehicle from campus locations. The burglary and two thefts were deemed unfounded, while the others are under investigation.

The department also took reports on two sex offenses, one case of rape and one of stalking. One of the sex offenses was referred to another law enforcement agency, while the other crimes remained under investigation.
