Health inspectors cite Moonstone with 10 critical violations

The Butler County Health District cited Moonstone Asian Cuisine, 313 S. College Ave., with 10 critical health code violations following an inspection last week.

Eight of 10 critical violations were corrected during the inspection. The violations were for the following; holding cold food at the wrong temperature, lack of knowledge about correct holding temperatures, having unnecessary people in the kitchen, not maintaining access to the hand washing sink, not properly protecting food from contamination, not storing eggs properly, and not properly marking dates on refrigerated foods.

Two critical violations were not corrected during the inspection: one for not keeping records relating to the freezing process to destroy parasites within sushi fish, and the second for the presence of insects requiring pest control.
