The Butler County Historical Society will hold a presentation on the Great Flood of 1913 at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 6 at Miami Regionals Downtown Hamilton Center, 221 High St. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event, hosted by Executive Director Kathy Creighton, will include firsthand accounts from Pauline Goetz Antenen, mother-in-law of Ann Antenen; Robert S. The 1913 flood is recognized as the greatest natural disaster in Ohio history, according to Ohio History Central. Most communities located along rivers in the state experienced flooding after heavy spring rains. Property damage from the event was estimated to be over $100 million, and at least 428 Ohioans lost their lives.
