NROTC celebrates Veteran’s Day with community events

The Miami University NROTC Unit and the NROTC Alumni Organization is celebrating its “75th Plus ONE” anniversary this Veteran’s Day Weekend beginning Thursday, Nov. 11, and ending Sunday, Nov. 14. 

NROTC is The Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps, which is a part of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University. Miami’s two other ROTC programs are the Air Force ROTC and the Army ROTC

Friday night’s celebration will feature an alumni reception at 5:30 p.m. in Shriver Center, which is $10 per person and includes light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. There will also be a Navy/Marine Corps Birthday Ball at 6:30 p.m., Friday in the Shriver Center. The cost is $50 per person, which includes dinner, the program, and dancing. 

The Symposium of Naval Science runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Taylor Auditorium in the Farmer School of Business. The keynote will be given by Vice Admiral Walter E. “Ted” Carter, Jr. USN, president of the University of Nebraska. The symposium is free and open to the public.
