Springfest returns after last year’s cancellation

An estimated 2,000 people masked against COVID-19 shared Miami University’s central quad on April, 21, 22, and 23, as Miami Activities and Programming (MAP) hosted its annual Springfest celebration.

The event, which was canceled last year when COVID-19 led to the campus being closed, is designed to help students celebrate all they have accomplished during the academic year. This year the event started on the afternoon of April 21, just a few hours after the last of a late-season snowstorm had melted away, and ended at 9 p.m. Friday, April 23.

“I think Springfest went so well. It was our first big in-person event since we shut down about a year ago, so it could not have gone better,” said MAP President Morgan Moritz. “Everyone had a great time, and I loved seeing all the students out enjoying campus again.”

Participants enjoyed free food from local food trucks, music, and activities like ceramics and custom street-sign giveaways.
