The RedHawks won two games this week and earned a spot in the MAC Tournament.
Miami beat the Golden Flashes on Feb. 21 in overtime, winning 96-92 at Millett Hall. The RedHawks then battled the Northern Illinois Huskies Feb. 25, winning 87-58 again at home.
These hard-earned victories clinched the team an early spot in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament. Even with three games remaining in the regular season, Miami men’s basketball is guaranteed a shot at winning the MAC Tournament.
Miami men’s basketball has been MAC regular season champions 20 times in the team’s history. Although, being regular season champs does not clinch a spot in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. The Redhawks must win the MAC Tournament to seed in March.
The MAC Tournament will be at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. It starts March 13.
