Talawanda Girls Basketball team falls in OHSAA District Semifinals to Western Brown
The Talawanda Brave girls basketball season ends after a narrow defeat to the Western Brown Broncos 48-49 Tuesday evening in Princeton.
The Brave finished the regular season with an 11-12 overall record, ranked No. 2 in Southwest Ohio Conference (SWOC) play with a record of 4-2.
Freshman guard Janna Cary led the team in scoring, averaging 13.4 points per game and 2.9 assists per contest. She was also second in the SWOC in scoring. Senior guard Layni Short played a significant role as well, averaging 8.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
This season marked the fourth year in a row the Brave clinched a spot in the OHSAA playoffs.
