The Oxford Police Department reported 10 incidents the week of Thanksgiving, including assault and theft.
At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 25 on College Corner Pike, officers responded to a welfare check of a male stumbling into the roadway. The subject fled on foot and was apprehended. He was found to have warrants for parole violations and was charged with obstructing official business and possessing drug abuse instruments.
At 3:29 a.m Nov. 26 on E High Street, a reported case of assault and criminal endangering was issued at Miami University’s campus for an incident that occurred at Brick Street Bar. The victim had been punched in the face and had their phone smashed into the ground. Officers made contact with the suspect, who admitted to striking the victim and damaging a cell phone.
An assault case was reported at 4:50 p.m Nov. 26 at College Corner Pike. Officers responded to an apartment in reference to an assault. A female subject was charged with assault and unlawful restraint then transported to Butler County Jail.
At 12:50 p.m Nov. 28 at S Locust Street, a Segway scooter was stolen from a bike rack outside of a local business. The scooter had been secured by a bike lock. Officers have not found subjects at this time.
At 1 p.m Nov. 28 an officer met with a resident on Kelly Drive who stated that he had Ring camera video footage of someone stealing packages from his front porch. The subject was charged with theft.
At midnight Dec. 1 a vehicle crash occurred in the block of Fairfield Road. The driver was found to be intoxicated and driving the vehicle without the permission of the registered owner. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged.
