People can now nominate educators in the Talawanda School District or McGuffey Montessori school for the Diversity Educator of the Year award given by the education committee of Oxford’s NAACP chapter. The organization is looking for a nominee who “promotes equality and fairness, demonstrates appreciation for diversity, exemplifies acceptance of all people, and challenges others to broaden their perspectives.”
The NAACP will present the award at its Freedom Fund Banquet on April 19 at Miami University’s Shriver Center. The honoree will receive a $200 award to use on educational materials which promote diversity awareness for all staff and students in the district.
Descriptive nomination letters can be directed to Ann Wengler at [email protected], or to 4250 Nichols Road, Oxford, Ohio 45056 before April 5.
