Between Nov. 13 and Nov. 26, Oxford Police Department responded to several reports of theft.
On Nov. 13, a vehicle charging station was found to be damaged in the City of Oxford Parking Garage on West Walnut Street.
At 11:30 a.m. later that day, officers responded to a reported theft at Walmart. The suspect was found inside the Walmart, taken into custody and charged with theft.
On Nov. 14, Oxford Police responded to multiple reports of theft. Just before 3:30 p.m. a woman reported that a low hitch had been stolen off her vehicle on the 700-block of Fuller Way. About an hour later, a subject reported their bike was stolen on the 900-block of Arrowhead Drive. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
At 7 p.m., officers responded to a dispute in progress on the 10-block of W. Sycamore St. Upon arrival, they determined one male was suicidal and transported him to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
There were no incidents reported on Nov. 15, according to OPD’s media report.
On Nov. 16, a resident reported an unauthorized charge on her debit card from the day prior. At 10 a.m., another woman reported her trailer hitch mount and hook had been stolen while parked on the 600-block of S. College Ave.
Just past midnight on Nov. 17, police responded to an unconscious male on the sidewalk. Police determined he was underage. He was transported to McCullough-Hyde and cited for disorderly conduct, prohibitions and underage drinking.
At 11:30 p.m. later that day, a male on the 30-block of High St. got involved in an altercation that resulted in a vehicle being damaged at the scene. He attempted to flee police before being found to be underage and in possession of a fake ID. He was charged with obstructing official business, prohibitions, criminal damage and underaged drinking.
In the early morning of Nov. 18 before 1:30 a.m., officers arrested a combative male at Brick Street. The male was charged with criminal trespass, assault, resisting arrest and underage drinking.
Just after 11 a.m. the same day, an individual reported her window on the rear door of her residence on the 20-block of E. Collins had been broken the night prior by a male knocking on the door. No entry was reported, and the male was unknown at the time of the report.
At 10 p.m. on Nov. 18, officers responded to a shoplifter at Walmart.
There were no incidents reported on Nov. 19, according to OPD’s media report.
On Nov. 20, an individual reported they were threatened by an unknown individual on the internet and sent them money out of fear.
Officers also responded to two reports of theft. Just before 6 p.m., an individual reported a package had been stolen from the Annex Apartments. Another individual reported a theft with a known suspect on the 6000-block of Vereker Drive.
There were no incidents reported on Nov. 21, according to OPD’s media report.
A store on the 5700-block of College Corner Pike reported two individuals stole four televisions at 7:20 p.m. on Nov. 22. When police arrived, the suspects had left the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 23, a resident reported disruptive and abusive behavior by a member of his “house organization” on the 120-block of S. Campus Ave.
There were no incidents reported on Nov. 21, according to OPD’s media report.
On Nov. 25 at 1 p.m., an employee at Juniper reported a teenage girl had stolen a “lace cami” without paying for it. There are no suspects. At 4 p.m. that day, another local business on the 10-block of W. High St. reported that two unknown juveniles took merchandise without paying.
At 1 p.m. on Nov. 26., officers responded to reports of a damaged car tire in the Level 27 Apartments’ parking lot. There are no suspects at this time.
