Between Oct. 23 and Oct. 26, the Butler Country General Health District filed inspection reports, all with violations, for five Oxford establishments.
Hampton Inn, 375 S. College Ave., received four non-critical violations, Oct. 23, all of which were repeats. These included bulk food not being properly labeled, nonfood contact surfaces being unable to clean easily, equipment not being approved by a recognized testing agency and fixed equipment not having enough space to be easily cleanable.
College Inn & Suites, 5190 College Corner Pike, had a follow-up inspection Oct. 23, with three non-critical repeated violations. The facility did not have a manager with the proper food protection certification and the plumbing system and facilities were not in proper condition.
Graeter’s at 29 W. High St. was also inspected Oct. 23. The restaurant received three non-critical violations, two of which were repeats for equipment not being approved by the proper testing facilities and for facilities not being in good repair. The third was using expired sanitizer testing strips, although the manager corrected this during inspection by ordering new ones.
Fiesta Charra Mexican Restaurant, 25 W. High St., was the final inspection of the day, receiving one critical and four non-critical violations. The critical violation was a critical repeat for using sanitizing solution at improper concentration. The person in charge fixed this during the inspection. The four non-critical violations were all repeated also, for issues that included broken equipment components and the presence of non-food contact surfaces that were not constructed with approved materials.
On Oct. 26, the inspector visited Tea Cha House at 19 W. High St. In addition to five repeat non-critical violations, the restaurant had two critical repeated violations. One was for live roaches on a shelf in the kitchen and crawling under cooking equipment. The other violation was because the person in charge was unable to demonstrate knowledge. The inspector will follow-up at a later date.
