Museum association plans summer events at Hueston Woods


The Oxford Museum Association is holding seven free events throughout the summer. All events run from noon to 4 p.m. at Doty Homestead, in Hueston Woods State Park at 6924 Brown Road. 

The events are as follows:

  • June 10-11: It’s Your Churn – Butter churning and outdoor bread baking.
  • June 17-18: Old-Fashioned Laundry Day – Learn about old-time laundry with washboards, mangles and rug beating.
  • July 1-2: Frozen Frontiers – Participate in churning your own ice cream and learn its history.
  • July 8-9: Pioneer Crafts – Experiment with candle dipping and rag doll crafting.
  • July 22-23: Parlor Games – Play board games from the 1800s.
  • July 29-30: Hand Fan Painting – Learn about hand fans, paint your own and take it home.
  • Aug 19-20: To be announced.
