Recycling plant fire unlikely to affect Oxford

The clouds of smoke billowing from a Richmond, Indiana  recycling plant fire is unlikely to impact Oxford.

The 13-acre fire was 90% extinguished by April 13, officials said. Some residents in Richmond have been evacuated. The site is approximately 25 miles from Oxford.

Officials said there is currently no risk of harmful particulate matter from the smoke reaching beyond the zone already evacuated. However, the EPA is monitoring the situation, and the results can change due to shifting wind patterns, officials said.
