Police arrests Talawanda student for social media threat

A Talawanda High School student was arrested Monday after making a threat to the high school via social media, according to a press release made by the district.

The press release says the post was created some time ago, but was reshared and reported to faculty by students during the district’s spring break.

Following a thorough investigation, a student was arrested and faces a felony charge for terroristic threats.

Talawanda Director of Communications and Public Relations Holli Hansel would not disclose what the threat was or any additional information on the student.

“Talawanda School District is very proud and grateful that students in the district are relying and acting on the safety training they have received,” officials said in the press release.
