There are more than 60 species of wildflowers at the sanctuary.

Take your Mom out to smell the flowers on Mother’s Day, on the last of a series of Wildflower Walks through the Silvoor Biological Sanctuary, at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 8.

The free event is open to the public and the walk starts at the Peffer Park pavilion, adjacent to the sanctuary at 4346 Millville Oxford Road. Participants are urged to wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes.

The five-acre sanctuary adjacent to the park is home to more than 60 wildflower species. The site was donated to Miami University by Robert Hefner in 1978. This will be the last of a series of spring walks held by the sanctuary every Sunday this spring.
