The latest in a series of Wildflower Walks through the Silvoor Biological Sanctuary takes place at 1 p.m. Sunday,  May 1 and next week on May 8,, beginning at the Peffer Park pavilion, 4346 Millville Oxford Road.

The free event is open to the public. Participants are urged to wear comfortable and sturdy walking shoes and to make sure that batteries in their camera are charged to capture the beauty along the trail.

The five-acre sanctuary adjacent to the park is home to more than 60 wildflower species, many of which are now in bloom. The site was donated to Miami University by Robert A. Hefner in 1978. Today, it is maintained through collaborative efforts of local residents and volunteers.

The sanctuary guides the Wildflower Walks every Sunday from March 27 through May 8 (Mother’s Day).
